Two years of wait, twelve hundred kms and heartfelt goodbyes,
Now I can’t believe I am standing under the Nalsar skies
Sometimes when seniors posted pictures of the pink, blue and purple clouds
I would keep the phone above my head for the feel, although I would admit I am not proud.
The other day I got lost in the Nalsar rains, it felt so natural, yet a long awaited fantasy
And then, I read this mail warning us of being struck by lightning as a possibility, yeah that really got me back to reality.
But I am happy for after two years of wait, twelve hundred kms and heartfelt goodbyes,
can’t believe I am standing under the Nalsar skies
Although I came here just 11 days ago,
This dobby has seen things she hadn’t seen before.
Never had to hit the chapati to dust off the extra flour,
Absolutely disliking everything in mess but still standing in line for more.
Rajma mai dal hai, dal mai sambhar hai,
Taste dono mai toh nahi hai.
Arre ye mess ke apnepan ki tareef hai, meri complaint nahi
Aur hogi bhi kyu after all its two years of wait, twelve hundred kms and heartfelt goodbyes,
And I still can’t believe I am standing under the Nalsar skies.
From shying away from pdfs to shying away from pda,
‘Keep your eyes straight’ is one of the lessons I learned today
I have no complaints being here, in case you may doubt,
Now I don’t even mind the second-hand smoking or the second-hand makeouts.
Slow walks on Flagroad, chaotic chats of the mess, and the sadness of Lovers Lane demise.
All the beauty that I had heard about Nalsar, i assure you none of it was a lie
I couldn’t be happier that after two years of wait, twelve hundred kms and heartfelt goodbyes, I couldn’t be happier that now I am standing under the Nalsar skies.
