“Are you here to help or to kill?” the guard uttered in annoyance
The chants grew louder, more verses called more winds
“I am awakening your ruler” the bard recited with a flounce
The guards drew their swords, they ought to stop the chants
The emperor still, with paralysis, stay lain
But as the chants grew louder, as the winds howled more,
As the dawn became clearer, as the birds became lively,
As the bard was finishing his verses, his eyes opened door.
His body felt his failing heart and his aching part.
The swordsmen stopped their strike, and apologized.
After a long spell broken, the emperor somehow inhaled.
“This bard, he knows, he has lived for a thousand years,
Or even longer than one can imagine,
Oh Bard of Eurasia, one who lives forever,
I thank thee for a final moment, before I pass from this world
To the other.
What words of wisdom have you, before I take your leave?”
The bard stood composed,
His eyes as dark as the terrors of night behold,
The brightest black, the darkest white, an eternity in his deep eyes.
He glanced, he thought, he whispered, in the emperor’s ears,
“I hate this online sem”
The emperor, he passed away
He is present among us,
But his audio and video are off….
